My
CV in traditional format (PDF).
"Freelancing”
since 2000, I have worked on litigation projects large
and small as an Attorney & CPA, combining traditional
legal practice with forensic accounting and complex
discovery management. In addition, my exceptional
communication, presentation and written skills have
made me in demand as a speaker on topics relating
to accounting and the law -- at professional programs
for lawyers and as training for forensic accountants.
As a “Big 8” staff auditor, during
the late 1980s, I started my wonderfully exceptional
career.
As I summer associate
during law school,
a few years later, I was introduced to the work of
representing investors in class-action securities
litigation. During that first summer, I evaluated
complaints alleging violation of accounting standards,
analyzed audit workpapers and corporate documents,
and assisted co-counsel depose a Big 8 auditor. With
enthusiasm, I demonstrated to the litigation team
why the accounts receivable documentation work was
indeed “hot.” A niche was born.
During my earliest
years in the law with firm Abbey
& Ellis (now Abbey, Spanier et al.), I assisted
prosecution of class action securities and shareholder
litigation. I then took a different perspective, working
with D’Amato & Lynch, representing AIG /
National Union on matters concerning coverage under
D&O and Professional Liability Policies (attorneys
and accountants) as well as corporate fidelity bonds.
It was my participation in a worldwide financial investigation
which rekindled my interest in participating more
directly with forensic-style accounting and utilizing
my unique combination of skills.
